IVPL Another Master Stroke from BVCI https://www.time4star.com/bvci-is-all-set-to-launch-ivpl/ Mon, 05 Feb 2024 13:13:56 +0000 https://www.time4star.com/?p=1755 BVCI -Board for Veteran Cricket in India is all set. To launch for their first Season of Cricket league titled IVPL Indian veteran premier league from 23rd February to 3rd March-24 at Dehradun, with many star Cricketers of the World Cricket , taking part in this most awaited league for Veterans.

This will definitely write a new chapter for Veteran Cricket in India, it will be indeed a  good opportunity for Veteran Players registered with the Board, earlier BVCI decided to choose players for IVPL as selection process by not conducting traditional trials, rather they Innovate here again, they conducted a Double Wicket Cricket Championship, in March- April last Year-23, which was another revolutionary thought  for choosing them by creation of a Match environment  with Providing 5 Overs to each Pair, importantly 200 Pairs participated in the Championship, from 15 States of India, this gave equal amount of opportunity for each Player to showcase their talent as well as getting decent amount of time to show their sheer skills and talent.

Inception of BVCI also came with revolutionary thought of  concept of creating a board for Veterans, was a brain child of  India’s flamboyant opening batsman who later turned Politician late Chetan Chauhan Sahib in 1998.

This thought germinated, when he realised, that, after retiring  from serious Cricket with BCCI,  those days( during 90’s)   Cricketers were not having much options to continue their Game which Gave them Name & Fame, Infact ,there are many Cricketers , who do not make it to India Level, but have played, State or National Level Cricket, therefore to continue cricket for them as well there are many, who due to their Family Pressures or career making give up to their Cricket, in order to earn their livelihood etc. With these practical thoughts this Super cricketing brain, created BVCI in 1998, as founding president of the board.

His vision was to increase Sportsman spirit as well as friendship all across the globe amongst Cricketers specially in India. Initially 35+ age Retired Cricketers were invited to become members of BVCI, Board, in order to conduct days and 50 Over Matches etc.

With changing times in Cricket too, further innovations were added, BVCI conducts 20:20 Matches all through their annual Calendar,  even the age bracket also broadened to  40+ years retired Cricketers can be part of BVCI to continue their regular Cricket. BVCI structured to serve for Veteran Cricketers in India with having 5 Zones, North West, East, South and Central with 16 States part of the board, The Cricket Calendar  starts with States  conducting, inter district tournaments to form State Teams, these State teams contest to form a Zonal Team, thereafter Zonal Teams aspire to Play National Championship. The current Cricket calendar & working of BVCI was laid down by Founding President Late Shri. Chetan Chauhan Sahib, but it was very sad when in the year 2020 entire World was fighting with COVID wave across, our Beloved Cricketer turned Politician Chetan Chauhan Sahib also became the Victim of Covid, he left his heavenly abode in August-20, Entire Cricket & Veteran world  was Shattered & Shocked with his Sad Demise, a void was created for Veteran Cricket, it is when, Acting President – Praveen Tyagi ( well-known Name in Veteran Cricket ,  who was earlier Vice President of Central zone alongwith Secretary Sudhir Kulkarni ( A Former First Class Cricketer requested, Hon’ble Central Minister of. Govt of India Shri Nitin Gadkari jee to become National president of BVCI, he was kind enough to take this honorable position, once he became the president of BVCI, Board was infused with fresh energy, National President announced to do some exemplary work for Veteran Cricket in India, He had announced to conduct 8 Nations Veteran World Cup soon, this electrified the entire Veteran Cricket in India.

BVCI to celebrate 25th Silver jubilee year of the board in 2024, Acting President Shri. Praveen Tyagi announced IVPL- Indian Veteran Premier league in Dehradun, which is a 6 Franchisee Model league, where 27 World’s Best Cricketers will take part alongwith veteran cricketers of India.

5 Iconic cricketers in each franchisee will make IVPL one of the biggest league after IPL. Some of the Cricketers across the world are Chris Gayle, Virender Sehwag, Praveen Kumar, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Harshal Gibbs, Thisara Parreiera, Anudeep Singh, Rajat Bhatia,Erakuddu Prasanna, Manpreet Goni, Ashley Nurse and many others.

All Veteran Players are quite excited for IVPL as this league will allow them to earn and play with their heroes, Dehradun will be alive from 23rd Feb-24, since the tournament will be held at Rajeev Gandhi international Stadium there, it will be live broadcasted event on euro Sports, DD Sports & FANCODE  leading OTT Platform, When our team decided to get more information , we Spoke to Acting president  Praveen Tyagi “ he Stated, that this will be very Competitive League as all 6 Teams are pretty balanced sides in terms of talented players in each side, each team has perfect balance of Iconic as well as Veteran Players which makes the league quite a competitive one, IVPL being projected as one of the best league after IPL in India, this will get lots of Opportunities to Veteran Players, he  indicated that, even our. Veteran Players are very talented , even you talk about the recent sensation of Veteran Cricket, Bhanu Seth from Jaipur has been winning hearts with his powerful batting, he is one hard hitter, who can hit any bowler in the World.

When it comes to left arm spin, we have Praveen Thapar from Haryana, K. S. Rana from UP, Narender  Meena( Narry) from Jaipur,Deep Chand Bonthial from Uttarakhand, Vishwajeet Solanki and many other are finest examples of spin bowling.

Narender Meena from Jaipur, Vishwajeet Solanki from West zones are the finest Left Arm Spinners for the league, while when we talk about Veteran Batters, we have Parminder Singh- from UP, Jeet Choudhary Sachin Rawal and Anshul Kapoor from UP are perfect batters for 20:20 Format, even Vijay Singh from Uttarakhand, is exception talent, there are many other Examples in BVCI even we have good medium Pace, we have Kapil Rana & Rajeev Tyagi from UP, even others from various states  have enormous talent , they all will be seen in Action with International Cricketers for making each Match an Interesting to the core, which gives IVPL a great high. I am sure IVPL will definitely bring many new Opportunities to Veteran Cricketers as well as Veteran Cricket in India.

IVPL managed by 100 Sports which is engaged in to Sports management. For more than a decade, their Managing Director- Ravindra Bhati also super excited while speaking for the occasion he opines “ IVPL is going to be a trend setter in Veteran Cricket in India, we are leaving no Stone unturned to make it Successful ,our team is working day in day out to make it one of the best league after IPL”.

6 Franchisee Teams are –

VVIP Uttar Pradesh, Owned by young and Budding Real Estate Professionals and successful businessman, Vibhor and Vaibhav Tyagi even their third Partner a Fabulous Content Creator leading Cricket Writer Dev Deep Tyagi ,  are super thrilled with making VVIP Uttar Pradesh a very competitive Team, with their knowledge and sheer Passion for the game, by having Suresh Raina, Rajat Bhatia, Anudeep Singh part of their brand Wagon team, VVIP Uttar Pradesh. Vibhor has been quite instrumental for making the best team for the league, he has been watching and even visiting many leagues in order to understands the nuisances as well as tricks to make a finest team, in consultation with his other partners.

Mumbai Champions – Owners Gaurang  Aggarwala & Harsh Sagar Jain are super charged with having Virender Sehwag in their team hoping for best results by their Franchisee , they are hoping to get the best matches with Super entertaining cricket during IVPL.

Gaurang himself a good cricketer, which gives him an edge on getting the best combination for his franchise, he is working hard to build a most competitive team for the league, he can also be seen in action during IVPL, he is real hard task master he has been very particular on getting right Coach even service staff for the franchise to get the best talent in the industry of cricketing circles.

Rohit Bawri – Owner of Rajasthan Legends also in top Spirits with having best Team, he is looking forward for all contesting matches during the league, with Erakuddu Prassana etc,

He being a businessman focussing more on best Players as well as good competitive team , which can compete well in the league, he has hired the Professionals to get the best value for his investment in Cricket.

similar opinion is with Sadhan Ghosh- Owner of Chhattisgarh Warriors, who hails from Chhattisgarh , who  had recently launched his Fashion brand YAARON Fashions by CM of Chhattisgarh, he is super Excited with the Development of his Franchise team, he is also quite happy with Yusuf Pathan being a part for his Franchise, he is planning many surprises for the league through his fashion brand as well as from his franchise, he not in mood to talk more at juncture on his franchise, he is saying wait & watch , let the magic begin, the curtain raised through IVPL.

Infact Govind Raju – Owner of Telangana Tigers also Super Charged with having Chris Gayle as part if his Franchise, he feels that, this is going to be a Game Changer as Chris Gayle has huge fan following in India this will definitely gives him an edge over others, which is why he has chosen Chris over other Players. Govind himself a good Cricket player makes him more lethal in order to choose the best with optimising the resources to their full potential, he has been quite a silent Franchise, who is working hard to produce the best with professional acumen towards building his own franchise,

Last but not the least Red Carpet Delhi Owners – Duo young budding business Man- Devesh Tyagi & Manjul Arora are quite upbeat with their Team having Hershel Gibbs, Ashley Nurse in their Side, they are trying every bit possible for making a very Competitive team Specially Devesh Tyagi spends quite a number of hours during the day to build his Franchise, he himself being a player too provides him the passion to build this sports Franchise business model alongwith his partner to get the right resources , which can deliver when it requires the most.

While understanding each Franchisee team , we have realised , there is going to be great Cricketing extravaganza in Dehradun soon, which will take the cricket on its Peak, but this time for a different reason, which is reason of Veterans making big in 20:20 Format turning eyeballs icons will be vocal with local will be the flavour.

Team Time4Star wishes BVCI Officials, all franchisee Teams and 100 Sports good luck to Organise one of the best league for Veteran Cricket towards writing a new Chapter in this History of Veteran Cricket.

My today’s story on Cover Drive is really very near to my heart, this is concerning to my life’s First Cricket Coach- Mr. Ranjit Mehra- A Well Known Left Arm Spinner from Delhi- who has coach me  on  basic Cricketing skills during my earlier childhood days , I have had a very humble background coming from Middle Class Family of Delhi, where father was the only Earning Member, I use to Study at Govt School at Jheel khuranja, which was one of the most Famous School in Delhi during 80’s due to their Performance is Sports and Academics as well, in East Delhi.

when I was just 14 years old Boy, learning my initial tricks of the game, this School was also famous for the Coach too, who was other then Mr. A. N. Sharma– who happens to be  Coach of Indian Cricket Legend Virender Sehwag, we were lucky to being trained by

Mr. A N Sharma, I have huge respect for him, he has been so phenomenon on teaching us basics of the game.. Kudos to Sharma Sir, I wish him long life.

Now coming back to my Story, I remember, First I saw my First Coach Ranjit Mehra A Quality Left Arm Spinner & decent Batter -those days, he was our  Paaji , as he was in his late 20’s while he was training us, without taking any monies  From us, I remember those days , we were is East Delhi- Gandhi Nagar, Ranjit Paaji also use to live there,( he also coming from Middle Class background)  he had started a Club with the name G N Kolts- Gandhi Nagar Colts, that’s the place I met few of my Childhood Buddies- Naved Alam- ( Those days he was quite quick as a Bolwer, with lack of Opportunities those days – he also did not play more then DDCA League )  I am in touch with till date , what a Fine human being he is, today  he is a respected Umpire in Delhi- Sanjay puri, Moh Shahid – Radhey Shyam ( what a Classy Batsman – he was those days).

We’re the Students of Ranjit Paaji, We use to reach on the Ram lila Ground early in the morning to Roll the Wicket with Stumps those days, matting wickets were very popular, that too half matting wickets, even the School Zonal matches sometimes were happening on half matting wickets, major. Or bigger tournaments like DDCA Leagues etc to take place on turf Wickets, Delhi Cricket. Was very Different those years.

Jheel khuranja No-1 had one of the best Team of Delhi school, I remember we won the Thumps -up Inter school Tournament too in Kolkata.. which was one of the biggest School tournament those. Years.

Ranjeet paa jee was Very popular. Amonst all our friends, he use to work during the day with some Organisation, (later on  he joined Hindustan Times on Sports Quota  in Dispatch Department) in the evening around 5 or 5: 30, we all were meeting in Ground, there we had net, Paajee used to coach us with batting Bowling and Fielding, he himself was a very good player, he played DDCA League with many Club Teams, those days no of tournaments were popular in Delhi, on Matting very few were there in Turf Wickets.

I remembered, we all use to pool in 2 Rupees each to buy a Ball, Pajee Figured out a shop , which was selling Balls which had some manufacturing defect those balls , he used to purchase on half of the cost due to less availability of Funds, for practice on the nets.

Those were the Golden Days, I wish if in our times Tournaments like IPL or some other league, would had been there, I am sure many Cricketers were played at least some of those prestigious tournaments, as Competition was also very cut. Throat those days, but those were the Golden Days.

I met my Friend Naved Alam , Kishan Sharma, recently in All India Exporters T-20 league in Greater Noida, this was a You Tube Live Event,  where Naved  was the Umpire even Kishan Sharma – Balli Bhai was. The Operations head for the. League  also met Ranjeet paajee after a long time, he had retired  from his job, today he is 65 years of Age, we really cherish our early days of Cricket. But. He is. Still coaching in Arvachin School- Vivek Vihar. As Head Coach, he is stii not retired Cricket has been his First Love, soon ,we will Start a Cricket Academy, this. Will allow us to get. All the Friends together.

Fasco Premier League- Season-II, was a great Cricket Extravaganza where All Leading Exporters of India Participate, this tournament has reached to a Different level, I did the Commentary for the Event along with Rahul ,  Jagrit Anand(Rranji trophy from Delhi , he is an amazing human being & Sports Enterpreuner ) he and Arnab his Partner were managing the league.

Also met Mr. Prince Malik – who is the main brain behind the Fasco Premier League by getting all gthe Exportters of Handicraft under one platform for Cricket and DK amazing Cricketers and great Human beings.

We were delighted with the Presence of West Indies Legend Courtney Walsh and Senior Indian Cricketer Rudra Pratap Singh were Chief Guest.

Very Soon I will be organising a get together with all my Old Cricketing Buddies of 80’s and 90’s — We will call that Get together Series ‘” Golden Boys Bash”

I always feel Once a Cricketer Sportsman for a lifetime, as Cricket has given lot to me in my life too, I am always thankful for the game, though, I have never made it bigger in the game not played for India, I am sure soon, I will working on starting my own Academy or organising a League in order to relive my Dream for Fulfilling my Dream Playing with Stars, before I die.

Thanks to all my Friends and well-wishers for supporting me every inch of the way,

I wish Ranjeet Paajee a Very Happy and long life, Team Time4Star wishes him great days ahead.

India’s Power Performance in ASIA CUP-2023, Ooh’—la—la.. https://www.time4star.com/indias-power-performance-in-asia-cup-2023-ooh-la-la/ https://www.time4star.com/indias-power-performance-in-asia-cup-2023-ooh-la-la/#respond Mon, 18 Sep 2023 14:12:24 +0000 https://www.time4star.com/?p=1345 “Indian Team had a thrilling victory over Sri Lanka by 10 wickets to clinch Asia Cup 2023 at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This victory became more special as it was a scintillating performance by Siraj, taking 6 wickets and bowling out Sri Lanka for a mere total of 50 runs.

This was a low total for Sri Lanka, which made the entire match one of the weakest finales of the tournament. It was a major disaster for Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka who won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision that ultimately proved to be wrong. Within a few overs, they lost wickets at regular intervals. Sri Lanka lost 6 wickets for just 12 runs, and the innings lasted only for 15.2 overs, ending on a mere total of 50 runs.

With a target of just 51 runs, India conquered it in 6.1 overs, with Shubman Gill scoring 27 and Ishan Kishan scoring a brilliant 23 not out.

Siraj was the main force behind India’s success, achieving his personal best figures of 6 wickets for just 21 runs, including one maiden over. This made his spell one of the most fiery performances, earning him the Player of the Match award.

From the beginning of Sri Lankan innings, Siraj was on fire, taking 4 wickets in one over, which rattled the Sri Lankan innings. They were 12 for 5 at the end of the fourth over. He was delighted when Pathum Nissanka was caught at point on the very first ball of the over. Later on, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Charith Asalanka fell on the third and fourth balls of that same over. Siraj further did damage when, on the final ball of the same over, he got Dhananjaya de Silva caught behind, sealing the tragic loss for Sri Lanka in the finale in front of their home crowd.

Siraj was ecstatic about this power-packed performance of taking 6 wickets against Sri Lanka. His joy doubled when he learned that he had equaled the record of Sri Lankan speedster Chaminda Vaas, who had picked 5 wickets against Bangladesh in the ICC Men’s World Cup in 2003, all in just 16 balls.

During the post-match interview, the jubilant Siraj stated, ‘Jitna Naseeb mein hota hai utna hi milta hai, Aaj mera naseeb tha,’ as if he was referring to the third ODI in Thiruvananthapuram, where he took 4 wickets against Sri Lanka. Due to his early 4 wickets, Sri Lanka managed to score only 73 runs while chasing a mammoth total of 391. However, in that match, his only regret was that he couldn’t get the 5th wicket. He even mentioned the same, ‘that day, I was getting edges off the bat at regular intervals but could not get the 5th one. I am happy today I have got 6 wickets.’

He showed great sportsmanship by donating his USD 5000 cash prize, which he received as Player of the Match, to the groundsman of Premadasa Stadium, who had worked so hard to prepare the wickets. This was a wonderful gesture, a true champion’s move.

The Asia Cup has proven to be the best tournament for the Indian Team. At the same time, it provided valuable insights for the entire team management and players to analyze and prepare effectively for the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup.

The Men in Blue tried different combinations to assess the suitability of each player within a winning combination. We saw Ishan Kishan adapting to the team’s requirements, a great sight. KL Rahul performed brilliantly with a classic century against Pakistan, and he was equally proficient behind the stumps. Shreyas Iyer, despite being given chances in the Asia Cup, was unlucky not to make a significant impact.

Some interesting records during this final match against Sri Lanka include:

  • Siraj achieved his 50th ODI wicket in 1002 deliveries.
  • India took 6 wickets for the first time within 10 overs in an ODI, and that too in a final match.
  • Siraj became the 2nd bowler to take 6 wickets in Asia Cup after Mendis.
  • Siraj’s figures of 6 for 21 became the best by any bowler against Sri Lanka in ODIs.
  • Siraj’s figures of 6 for 21 became the best by any Indian pacer in an ODI final, second only to Anil Kumble’s 6 for 12 in the Hero Cup during 1993.

Many Indian cricketers, including the God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly, congratulated the Indian team on their historic victory in the Asia Cup Finals over Sri Lanka.

The Enigma: Why Pakistan Has Never Beaten India in World Cups https://www.time4star.com/the-enigma-why-pakistan-has-never-beaten-india-in-world-cups/ https://www.time4star.com/the-enigma-why-pakistan-has-never-beaten-india-in-world-cups/#respond Tue, 12 Sep 2023 14:07:10 +0000 https://www.time4star.com/?p=1325 In the world of cricket, few rivalries are as intense and eagerly anticipated as that between Pakistan and India. The matches between these two cricketing giants are not just sporting events; they are cultural phenomena that transcend boundaries. Despite the fierce competition, one glaring statistic stands out: Pakistan has never managed to secure a victory against India in a World Cup match. This enigma has puzzled fans, experts, and players alike for decades. In this article, we delve into the reasons behind Pakistan’s struggle to overcome their arch-rivals on the grandest stage of them all.

Psychological Pressure

One of the primary factors contributing to Pakistan’s World Cup woes against India is the psychological pressure associated with the matchup. The immense fanfare, media frenzy, and nationalistic fervor surrounding these encounters can be overwhelming. Players, even seasoned veterans, can find it challenging to stay focused and perform under such intense scrutiny. This mental burden often leads to uncharacteristic mistakes and errors on the field.

History and Expectations

The weight of history and the burden of expectations play a significant role in Pakistan’s struggles against India in World Cups. With every passing tournament, the legacy of previous defeats looms larger, creating a sense of apprehension and self-doubt. Conversely, Indian players may feel more confident and motivated, knowing they have a historical edge.

Chasing a Moving Target

Cricket is a game of continuous adaptation, and the Indian team has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to evolve with the times. Their players are not only highly skilled but also quick to adapt to changing game strategies, conditions, and formats. Pakistan, on the other hand, has at times struggled to keep pace with the evolving dynamics of modern cricket. This disparity can be particularly pronounced in high-stakes encounters like World Cup matches.

Nerve-wracking Moments

Crucial moments in a match, such as a pressure-laden run chase or a pivotal wicket, often separate the victors from the vanquished. Pakistan has, unfortunately, found themselves on the wrong side of these nerve-wracking moments more often than not against India in World Cups. The ability to stay composed under pressure and execute crucial skills with precision is where the Indian team has, on numerous occasions, outperformed their Pakistani counterparts.

Consistency and Form

Consistency is a cornerstone of success in any sport, and it’s an area where Pakistan has sometimes struggled. While there have been moments of brilliance and flashes of cricketing genius, sustaining that level of performance throughout an entire match, let alone a tournament, has proven elusive. In contrast, India’s players have exhibited remarkable consistency and form, making them a formidable force in World Cup competitions.

Final Remarks

The quest for victory against India in World Cups continues to be a tantalizing goal for Pakistan cricket. While the reasons behind this enduring challenge are multi-faceted, they should not diminish the remarkable talents and achievements of Pakistan’s cricketers. Overcoming this historical hurdle will undoubtedly require a combination of mental fortitude, strategic planning, and consistent execution on the field.

As cricket fans, we eagerly await the day when both teams are there in world cup against each other. Until then, the rivalry between these two cricketing powerhouses will continue to captivate the hearts and minds of fans around the world.
