Bollywood, where everyone wants to make a career to become Successful & Popular with dreams in the eyes to become a Star, but for an outsider to get an entry to become a Star or being successful not that easy as the Most Professional industry produces more than 1500 to 2000 films, every year, needs push and pull of a god father or people known in the Fraternity -by and large, for a new comer with a Dream of working in Bollywood is next to attaining nirvana.
In a Country like India where more than 1.4 billion people making a space for yourself in the film industry is extremely tough, if not impossible. Thousands land up in Mumbai every day to pursue their dreams and thousands return without realizing them, since lad lands in Mumbai, for getting a dream role or getting an entry to Bollywood to fulfil their Dreams, biggest challenge is survive on day to day basis in the most Expensive city during the struggling days, one way you need to incur expenses of travel, going from office to Office, Studios to Studio not an easy task ,with keeping the morale high accepting rejections each day, then again getting on their feet’s for next day for doing the same drill again becomes tiresome.
Sometimes, it becomes a nightmare, they end up their dreams and start working in some allied Film industry jobs because survival takes the front seat, many of such stories are there in Bollywood, but for some , who have the courage ,determination power of their own belief to become successful in Bollywood emerge as winners, their patience pays off, as it is rightly said “ Fortune favours the Brave” some of these brave people without any family background to movies or Bollywood with their sheer Passion becomes successful for perusing their dream, as they listen to their inner voice also with huge passion to become successful love for cinema makes them an Exception.
I am highlighting one of such Star, Who is a Great Friend, known him for more then 15 years, Honest, absolute serious & Passionate for Film Making, who has not left any stone unturned to become successful in Bollywood, his Smart work clubbed with Hard work on his Skill enhancement to shine his Craft of Film Making, let me introduce, a Self-Made, Very Talented ,amazing human being, who has never compromised on his values ,ethics and Ethos , Actor, Director, Writer producer Anand Kumar -Delhi Boy, , became successful in Bollywood an Ace Indian film Director, Writer as well as the founder of his own Production house Anand Kumar Productions, born in a Malayali Family, his Father Mr. Rajappan Lawyer-in Delhi high Court, mother Shanta Ruju -homemaker, they never thought that, their son will embark his Journey in the Maya Nagri both parents never had a clue that in Future their son will become a successful Director Producer of Bollywood, both if them gave the entire credit to Anand for his vision, Sheer hard work followed his dream with a focused approach without having any connection in Bollywood neither anyone in the family in film industry, isn’t it like a typical Bollywood script, let me run you through his initial years of the journey.
Anand did his schooling from DTEA Sr. Secondary School- Lodhi Estate -Delhi, , , for completing his education, he want to Hyderabad, where his love for films saw the light of the day, when, he did Mass Communication in Hyderabad , thereafter this opened doors to Bollywood, he got an opportunity to start his celluloid journey.
His passion for film making gave him the courage to do his First Documentary in the year 2001 on Leading DJ’s of the Nation, that was time DJ culture was catching up in the Nation, music industry was changing as well. This Documentary got good applauses & laurels in the Film fraternity, which gave him the conviction to peruse this more seriously he tried his hands on writing script writing of ad Films even produced few of them, he was getting regular work, then later on he got in two Production of Songs, he really tried every bit possible for survival in the Film industry with sparkles in the eyes and own belief that, come what may, One day, I will prove to the world, that, without any Godfather & no Family background in Films, New comers like Anand Kumar can make their mark in Bollywood.
But, he kept his cool, & continued working whatever came to his way with sharp focus on Film making, as core Agenda. To him, he knew that, it is not easy but he was working during the day, for Ad Films ,Songs script writing to production, during his free time writing a Script of a movie , which he wanted to Directo or Produce, for which , he was trying and meeting Directors and Producers even Production houses to understand their gamut of business as well as trying to seek an Opportunity to Produce his own movie one day.
Finally, his serious Film Making Journey began in the year 2007, when he launched his own Production house Anand Kumar Productions with his First debut film Delhi Heights, which was written & Directed by him.
Produced by Shivaji Productions starring , Neha Dhupia, Jimmy Shergill, this movie was appreciated well by the Audiences even with the Film Fraternity, that’s where he registered his serious entry to Bollywood.
Thereafter in the year-2009 his second movie Jugaad starring Manoj Bajpai also got decent response on Box office as well as good appreciation by the fraternity, this movie gave his much awaited name and fame, now his dreams were getting shape.
Now he wanted to spread his wings further also to cement his position in Bollywood as a Director Producer wanted to a big Movie with bigger star cast, even luck was also helping him on his sheer hard work to get the best results of his struggle to peruse his Passion. However his journey gets little comfortable now, he made some good friends in the Bollywood fraternity, but still lot needs to be done by him, initial pressure of getting his own Production house getting more momentum in an ocean like Bollywood.
He launched his another big Movie titled Zila Ghaziabad written by Vinay Sharma & Directed by Anand Kumar with leading Names of the Bollywood industry, Starring -Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Vivek Oberoi, Minissha Lamba, Ravi Kishan,Paresh Rawal, Sunil Grover produced by Vinod Bachchan, Music : Amjad Nadeem, This movie did not become very Successful on Box Office, however but gave good recognition to him to positioned himself as a Director with difference, someone who does Different kind of Cinema.
Which is real and created his own niche for a different Cinema viewing experience for audiences other then Maar Dhaad & Masala movies, his movies always had a message or having a real Story or highlighting a Real Problem etc in the Society, which created a different impact on the audiences towards the respect of his Craft of film making, that’s where he had created his. Own niche in Bollywood.
Later in 2014 his next movie Desi Katte , which was again a Story of a Small town near Kanpur, where. Hand made guns were produced , he was brave enough to pick this Story & made Desi Katte ,which was Released all over India with a bang , this movie was written by Aaryan Saxena Directed & Produced by Anand Kumar- under Anand Kumar Productions, was another masterpiece from him.
Starring: Sunil Shetty, Jay Bhanushali, Akhil Kapoor, Sasha Aga khan, Cinematography by S.R.Sathish Kumar Music Score Kailashkher also did well on Box Office, One of the Item Song “Patne wali Hoo mai” in which Big Boss Fame Model Actress Claudia Ciesla did a Marvelous job liked by Audiences too.
Anand’s Journey of Bollywood stil continuing he has been making Short Films working on various Scripts viz includes Ek Balti Paani, Blood Buddhas & Dubki, are his latest Releases during Pandemic even post Pandemic, he isworking on a Big Project coming up on a Sports theme movie on India’s Football Sensation Baichung Butia, narration sessions Script writing, casting etc work getting done on it, alongside he is busy finalising some other Scripts too.
He is keen to work on a Different type of Web series, not much to be shared as of now, as the Creative man is on his Creative something more exciting. Coming soon,
He has been lucky to get Beautiful, Intelligent partner his Wife Neeta Menon ( Love of his Life) also an Extremely talented Creative person helping him every inch of the way of his Journey so far, she has been his biggest critique as well, which helps Anand to get the first hand response of any Project, she is even a great help in handling operations work for Anand Kumar Productions having a good sense & understanding of Aesthetics of film making, even his Two Hunks ( His Sons) Krish & Vivaash also having good interest in Sports & film making , waiting for something exciting coming soon on Celluloid from their talented father.
